I can’t think of anything better than picking my next read, can you? Hovering by the great wall of fiction in the book store, choosing the ‘one’ from the many rows of flirty spines, the seduction of its blurb on the back cover that tempts you to take a nosey inside and leaf through its pages. Bliss.
I’m passionate about reading, writing even more so.
Whether it’s writing thrillers like The Tunnel and its sequel Where Old Dogs Die or one of the many short stories such as Imminent, Black Bags & Scrubbers, or There's Something Wrong With Mike, as soon as I put my ideas into action and my fingers flutter across my laptop, I’m in literary heaven. From notebooks, scraps of paper and head-scratching plots, to the multitude of courses in writing popular fiction or freelance Journalism I’ve devoured, I have always been attracted to the beauty that is literature, in particular storytelling.
John Irving once said: "A writer's job is to imagine everything so personally that the fiction is as vivid as memories." And I love that.
My aim has always been to write novels that resonate with the lives we can imagine for ourselves. Original, authentic, thrilling fiction to lose yourself in, barbed with hooks, twists, and an ending you didn't expect with a protagonist that could quite easily be you in a storyline that could quite easily be yours.
Would you know if it wasn’t?
Not if I can help it.

'Creativity is seldom born out of order!' The Pit, where days are lost to months ...

... the soul lost to the narrative, the fingers to the keys ...

... and if you make it out alive, you might just end up with this. The Draft.
